License Plate Lamp -X-

License Plate Lamp -X-, Removing and Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Torque Wrench 1783 - 2-10Nm -VAG1783-

Removing

• Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.
• Remove the screws -arrows-.
• Remove the License Plate Lamp -X-. Pay attention to the wires still connected.

• Disconnect the connector -arrow-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Note

There is a small silver protective strip -arrow- applied to the license plate lamp diffusion lens. This strip must always face the bumper when installing the diffusion lens.

• Tighten the screws -arrows- to 1.2 Nm.

License Plate Lamp Bulb, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• Torque Wrench 1783 - 2-10Nm -VAG1783-

Removing

• Remove the license plate lamp.
• Push the contact plates in the direction of -arrow- and remove the bulb.

License Plate Lamp -X- bulb: tubular bulb 12V, 5W

Installing

Note

There is a small silver protective strip -arrow- applied to the license plate lamp diffusion lens. This strip must always face the bumper when installing the diffusion lens.

• Tighten the screws to 1.2 Nm.
