- Torque Wrench 1783 - 2-10Nm -VAG1783-
Radiator Grille, Removing and Installing through 06/2011
This procedure applies also to vehicles with optional equipment from
Volkswagen R GmbH.
Note
The radiator grille from Volkswagen R GmbH has dual slats and chromed
decorative trim.
Removing

Radiator Grille, Removing:
- Remove the bolts -2 and 3-.
- Remove the radiator grille -1- upward from
the lock carrier -5-.
- Release the right and left retainers -4-
next to the mark -7- by sliding a small
screwdriver under the lower slats.
- Push the retainers one after another sideways in the direction of
-arrow b- to release and slightly remove the
radiator grille -1-.
- Remove the radiator grille -1- from the
bumper cover -6- in direction of
-arrow a-.
Emblem, Removing
- Release the retainers on the back side of the emblem
-7- and remove the emblem in the direction of
the -arrow a-.
Installing

Install the Radiator Grille:
- Insert the radiator grille -1- into the
bumper cover -4-.
- Install the screw -3-. Tightening
specification: 2 Nm
- Screw in bolts -2-. Tightening
specification: 6 Nm
Emblem, Installing
- Insert the emblem -5- slightly turned in
the direction of the -arrow a- in the radiator
grille.
- Turn the emblem -5- in the direction of the
-arrow b- until the hooks engage.
Radiator Grille, Removing and Installing from 07/2011
Removing

Radiator Grille, Removing:
- Remove bumper cover
- Release the hooks-3- on the back side
-arrow a-.
- Remove the radiator grille -1- for the
bumper cover -2--arrow b-.
Emblem, Removing
- Remove the emblem from the radiator grille with pliers.
Installing

Install the Radiator Grille:
- Push the radiator grille -1- onto the
bumper cover -2--arrows b-.
- Make sure that all of the hooks -3- engage
correctly.
Emblem, Installing
- Insert the emblem into the radiator grille and fasten it.
